Found

Ironic, isn't it, that I had to search high and low on the internet to find anything about FOUND Magazine and its creator, Davy Rothbart, who treasures the throwaway grocery lists, windshield notes, photos, etc., that the rest of us toss into File 13 every day?

CNN ran a segment on Rothbart and his magazine last night and it was fascinating. My favorite part of the piece? A windshield note left for someone who'd blocked in another car that read, in heavy black bold writing, " 'Inconsiderate' is what people must think when you come to mind."

Neat site. I've had a site called "Found Photos" on my favorites list for a while now. If you want to check it out, the addy is:
http://www.10eastern.com/foundphotos/

They find photos people place in their filesharing programs and post them on their page.

Hey there Sherman! I linked your page. I've got to find this "Found" book and check it out. Borders, here I come...

Now I'm all afraid Rothbart somehow got his mitts all over this bag of letters I saved from friends back in 1991-93/94 that I just finally found the inner courage to throw away a couple of months ago. I couldn't watch myself do it; I'm sentimental that way but I was in a no-backing-down "out it goes" cleaning mood and they hadn't been read in over 10 years.

Good god... if FOUND starts adding tossed out lame-o 'zines that were never sent out to an unsuspecting world, the jig is up for me. *gulp*

I still have a diary my friends and I used as an open forum in High school. I have very pack-ratty instincts when it comes to that kind of stuff.

I looked through the site and I loved the letter to Mario from his GF, Amber. It talks about how much she hates him and his cheating ways. then ends with the phrase, "PS: Page me later." I about busted up lauging when I saw that.

As for your 'zines that never got sent out. I helped a friend with this zine he published whil we lived in Las Vegas. It was called Suedomsa. I think it's up on the web:
