It is a cool site. I'm still undecided about RK. I think Jenny Lewis was being incredibly honest in Portions for Foxes: "I keep talking trash, but I never say anything."

Shameless pimping of unsigned NYC musicians: http://www.nicoleatkins.com/

I have high hopes for her. It's my goal to spread the gospel, wait till she makes it big, and then loudly proclaim: "I saw her play to a crowd of fifty while all you suckers were still listening to Rilo Kiley." Yeah. I've alway wanted to be one of *those* people.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. I hope he gets better soon.

That's how I feel about Atlanta's own Kelly Hogan, who now wows 'em in Chicago on a regular basis. The best line ever on Hogan, as those of us who Knew Her When call her, was in a local rag mag review. It said something like "Kelly Hogan could sing the phone book and make it sound stunningly beautiful."

Thanks for the kind words about my dad. He doesn't have lung cancer, which is good news, so we're going to try medicinal therapy for the gallstone and see if some meds will stimulate his appetite.

That unipine music video is so sad. I didn't even really listen to the music but instead chewed my nails waiting anxiously to see whether the two would get back together. And then it ended tragically and I cried.

Thanks to you, rekkid, I decided to check out Rilo Kiley's new album. It should be arriving from Amazon sometime soon. I just started listening to a guy from Sacramento called Mason Lindahl. He's kind of in the vein of Postal Service in where he uses synthetic beats and music but he's a little slower and more melancholy.

I was on the fence about RK but I just fell squarely on the side of "Like." Fan. Me.

They're coming to ATL but as an opening act for some megaband at Philips Arena - Coldplay, who I already really liked - and I can't afford to go. Plus, I'd rather see a band like RK in a venue where they'd thrive - a small club, not a huge indoor sports arena/concert hall where a bunch of people who don't know them will be talking on their cellphones, pissing off Jenny Lewis. And rightly so.

Really good bands open for Coldplay. Earlier this year Eisley was touring with them.
